Being a student employee can be a very rewarding experience. Our FWS students work with students, staff, and faculty to assist with the daily functions of Oakland Community College and are a vital part of our success.

This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required:

1. Engages with students, staff, and faculty in an academic environment, business environment, or multipurpose retail environment.
2. Basic computer knowledge and experience.
3. Holds a solid work ethic.
4. Maintains student confidentiality when accessing student records and accounts.
5. May be asked to assist the staff/ faculty with various assigned tasks.
6. Attends orientation and trainings

• Must be enrolled in 6 or more financial aid eligible credits to be employed.
• Ability to communicate ideas to a diverse population of students
• Interest in helping students, staff, and faculty
• Capability to use technology and skills in an office or otherwise environment

FWS pay is determined by number of hours worked:

• $10/hour with fewer than 300 hours of service.
• $.25/hour increase for every 300 hours worked with a maximum wage of $11.25 per hour (on-campus only).
